My good mate Alex Reay runs Alforno manufacturing and installing commercial Pizza ovens to restaurants and eateries across the country. I met Alex at Fatto A Mano in Brighton and we were treated by Nicholas the head chef to a range of delicious creations. A most enjoyable shoot.
I’m currently working on another feature film for Goldfinch Studios up in Selby. This sci-fi is written and directed by Carl Strathe and produced by Charlette Kilby. Its got a great look and feel to it and the cast appear to be 100% committed to the script.
Waiting for Anya
Much of my work comes out of the blue with hardly any notice at all and thats exactly what happened last week when I received a call from film pr, Eric Woollard-White, asking if I could travel to France, a couple of days later to cover a film set visit by the author Sir Michael Morpurgo. His novel ‘Waiting for Anya’ has been adapted for screen by young screenwriter Toby Torlesse for Goldfinch Studios. Directed by Ben Cookson with a very cool cast including Jean Reno, Anjelica Huston and rising star Noah Schnapp, Stranger Things, this has all the ingredients of a great film.
We drove down to Lescun on the French/Spanish boarder on Friday, shot both stills and video all day Saturday and then drove all the way back Sunday. Great road trip!
Noah posted a short teaser clip from the interview I shot on his Instagram page which had over 800,000 views. Well done young man!

Warner Music approached Blanket Productions again this year to cover their Brits after party at the Freemasons Hall, London 21/03/2018. Myself and always trust worthy Romain Kedochim braved the drunken revellers to capture the night in all its glory. Jason and the crew at Warners put on another stunning party at this incredible building and with best female going to Dua Lipa and best male going to Stormzy Warners had a good night all round.
The highlight for me was bumping into some old friends Pete Tong, Nitin Sawhney and especially the brilliant Jim Sturgess.
Tim is exactly the type of human being I love to shoot. Intelligent and multitalented. Tim is best known as the drummer in the band Fink and I’ve been luck enough to photograph him on various occasions throughout his musical career. Unbeknown to me he is also an author and when he contacted me to ask if I would photograph him for his 3rd novel I was delighted.
As he lives in Stoke Newington I contacted another old friend who owns a burger bar and we arranged to do the shoot there. We spent about an hour doing various set ups and managed to catch up at the same time. Effortless.
A big thank you to Burger Bear Tom for the location and if you ever find yourself in Stoke Newington with a rumbly tummy then get yourself down to Stokey Bears for the best burgers in London, if not the UK!!
Henrix is back!
When asked to shoot an album playback with legendary producer Eddie Krammer and hosted by 6 Music’s Shaun Keavney for the new Jimi Hendrix album I jumped at the chance.
Guests were invited to hear 4 tracks from the album of previously unreleased tracks whilst Eddie recounted the moments in the studio.
A great night and a great album.
Although 2017 was not a busy year for me the year brought new adventures and looking back I got some cracking images!
Highlights included working as stills photographer on Solis and The Revenger:An Unromantic Comedy, Fink at the Forum, Kojo, Rag n Bone Man, Worth It, The Brits and much more.
A big thank you to all my clients and colleagues!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy 2018
Fink at the Forum
On 16th Nov I had the immense pleasure of photographing Fink at the O2 Forum, Kentish Town, London. Copyright Chris Lopez 2017
I had the absolute pleasure of working with one of the most talented guys in the business. I worked with Tommy about 12 years ago on the first Strictly album so was delighted to catch up with him again after all these years for the release of his compilation album with Universal music.
Whilst shooting 3 promos and a TV ad, Tommy and I managed to squeeze out a few stills at Cafe De Paris, London.
Tommy smashed it!
