International Photographer, Chris Lopez, is shooting his next coffee table style photographic book ‘Beach Huts of Bournemouth’.
Inspired by the town’s beauty and charm, Chris has recently moved into the area and will be spending the next three months pounding the promenade photographing 200 beach huts and their occupants to coincide with the Bournemouth 2010 event, celebrating 200 years.

Quintessentially British, Beach Huts date back to the Victorian era and are often passed down through the generations. Each is uniquely decorated, reflecting the owners’ character and style. In the book, Chris aims to capture both the visual appeal of these quirky little structures as well as give an insight into the diverse personalities that occupy them. Each image will be accompanied by a brief history of the owners and their relationships with their huts.

The book will be published in August 2010 with an initial release of 1200 limited edition 12” hardback copies with a rrp of £35.00 each.  A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the RNLI. Chris is looking to exhibit selected prints from the book in both Bournemouth and London.
